In this playful after-school class, Pre-K students will build fine motor skills while learning the basics of book-making! Through folding, gluing, decorating, and collaging, little artists will create their own mini books using age-appropriate materials and techniques. Each week introduces a new project that encourages creativity, storytelling, and hands-on exploration. A perfect first art class for budding bookmakers!

Join us for a special women’s ministry event where community member and Vestry member Emma Cowan, a professional art educator, will guide participants in an art experience centered on the meditative power of creativity. Using mixed media materials, Emma will invite us to explore art as a practice of reflection, presence, and renewal.

This session is designed for adults of all levels—whether you are brand-new to art or have years of creative practice. Together, we’ll experiment with approachable techniques that encourage slowing down, letting go of perfection, and finding peace through the process of making.

Miss Emma specializes in providing unforgettable art-making experiences right in the comfort of your own home, or in a classroom at Glen Echo Park. Enjoy a 1-hour session of personalized art instruction! If you book one of the rooms at Glen Echo you will have the space for a total of 4 hours, allowing for cake and games after the art. Miss Emma will collaborate with you to tailor each art project to your party theme, ensuring a magical and cohesive celebration. All materials are included, and each child will receive a sketchbook to decorate, participate in a main activity producing a display-worthy artwork, and engage in an early finisher project creating a keepsake for the birthday child. A $75 deposit secures your desired date.

Animal Sculpture Adventure: Embark on a sculptural journey as you bring adorable animals and their habitats to life! With air-dry clay and a selection of mixed media, each child will sculpt their own animal and create a mini habitat to house their creation. Under Miss Emma’s guidance, budding sculptors will unleash their creativity and take home personalized artworks to treasure forever.
